This is widely considered the most dramatic, technical, and famous mountain pass in all of Tenerife, winding through the ancient Teno Rural Park along the legendary TF-436 from Los Silos up through Masca to Santiago del Teide
The character of the road is defined by its extreme verticality, razor-thin mountain ridges, and sheer canyon walls. Climbing out of the lush El Palmar valley, the route crosses the weather divide at the Baracán ridge before plunging into the impossibly steep, single-lane switchbacks of the Masca ravine, passing through the historic hamlet of Masca and rising past Mirador de Cherfe to Santiago del Teide
