What to expect
The GC-200 is the wild west of Gran Canaria — a remote, dramatic road carved into the island’s least-developed coast, far from the southern resorts. It links the dry south-western landscapes around Mogán toward the cliffs and ravines near La Aldea de San Nicolás, with endless curves, exposed mountain sections and big Atlantic views the whole way.
This is a road every rider remembers. The 2026 Ducati DesertX V2 is perfectly suited to it: an upright, planted adventure bike that takes the constantly changing rhythm — tight corners, open straights, small villages and cliffside drama — in its stride.
Near the Mirador del Balcón you’ll catch the famous ‘Dragon’s Tail’ cliffs falling into the ocean. It is not a road to rush; fuel up, take your time and let the west coast unfold. Traffic is usually lighter than the tourist roads, but expect cyclists and the odd bus.
