What to expect
The TF-375 climbs out of the quiet town of Chío and sweeps up through Tenerife’s western volcanic slopes toward Santiago del Teide. After the pottery village of Arguayo, the road cuts straight through the black lava fields of the 1909 Chinyero eruption — the island’s most recent — with Mount Teide and Pico Viejo filling the skyline.
Wide, flowing, perfectly-paved corners make this a pure sport-touring road, and the 2025 Yamaha Tracer 900 is right at home here: torquey, planted through the sweepers, and unbothered by the crosswinds that whip across the open lava plains.
Traffic is usually light — mostly locals and fellow riders — so you can settle into the rhythm of the curves. At around 1,000 m the mountain air turns crisp and cool, a welcome change from the warm coast below.
