Was Sie erwartet
This is an epic mountain ascent on the LP-301 in La Palma, climbing from the eastern midlands of Breña Alta deep into dense Canary pine forests to finish at the iconic Refugio El Pilar.
The character of the road is defined by its dramatic change in elevation and atmosphere. As you leave the coastal midlands behind, you’ll climb through steep, twisty forest passes and often ride through the trade-wind-fed “sea of clouds” (mar de nubes). The route cuts across the Cumbre Vieja ridge, leading to Refugio El Pilar—a historic recreational hub and the starting point for the world-famous Ruta de los Volcanes.
A technical and deeply refreshing mountain climb through towering, fire-resistant Canary Island pines. Enjoy the torque pulling out of tight hairpins, watch for shaded damp patches or scattered pine needles, and experience the journey on a capable dual-sport bike like the 2025 Honda XL750 Transalp.
